A county sheriff in Texas has taken a power-cutting software to a neighborhood crypto ATM after a household was reportedly scammed out of $25,000, sparking debate amongst crypto customers over the sense of his actions.

The incident comes amid rising scrutiny of crypto ATMs throughout the US and overseas.
