Energy cuts and flood alerts as Storm Herminia hits Wales

A Met Workplace alert for heavy rain started at noon Sunday and stays in place till the top of Monday.

On Monday morning, Pure Assets Wales (NRW) issued 15 flood alerts throughout Wales.

It comes after Storm Éowyn triggered disruption on Friday and Saturday, together with a number of energy cuts and gusts of as much as 93mph (159km/h).

The Met Workplace mentioned: “Intervals of heavy rain may finally result in some flooding of roads and properties.

It warned as much as 40mm (1.6in) of rainfall was broadly possible, with remoted totals of as much as 70mm (2.8in) largely possible over excessive floor.

A wind warning is in place from 06:00 on Monday till 06:00 on Tuesday throughout throughout a big swathe of the nation excluding Anglesey, Denbighshire, Flintshire and Wrexham.

The Nationwide Grid mentioned, as of 14:30 on Sunday, it had 13 energy cuts, affecting about 773 properties.

The worst affected areas have been Merlin’s Bridge in Pembrokeshire, Splott in Cardiff, and Aberporth in Ceredigion.
