Police mentioned they had been trying to find a suspect after a severe assault in Plymouth left the sufferer in hospital.
Devon and Cornwall police mentioned officers had been referred to as to the West Hoe space at 8.55pm on Wednesday after an individual was discovered severely injured on the street.
The individual was handled on the scene in West Hoe Street by paramedics and brought to town’s Derriford hospital.
The drive mentioned West Hoe Street was closed and a big police presence remained on the scene as officers looked for a male suspect.
The 2 individuals had been believed to be recognized to one another.
Det Ch Insp Dave Pebworth mentioned: “We have now a big police presence within the space and enquiries are ongoing to find and arrest the suspect.
“We consider that is an remoted incident and there’s no rapid risk to the broader public. We’d ask members of the general public to please avoid the West Hoe space of town whereas we proceed our investigation.”
